Well, I’ve bitten the bullet and started rewriting a series I started but which proved so complex it was difficult to fit everything in without a whole ton of telling. And telling is dull. I put the work aside, not sure how I was going to tackle the problem of conveying a virus so deadly and horrific it mutated people beyond recognition—or find the right words to describe the heroes who have been specially created to fight the infected and protect what’s left of the world’s population from total annihilation. As so often happens for me, I was doing nothing much when the characters—or rather the heroine from this story started ‘speaking’ to me. I took my CP’s advice and wrote the scene hammering at my brain and 1k later I’m back on track. Now I just need to clear my schedule to devote some time to these guys!
